☕ Coffee

Coffee is one of those things I genuinely nerd out about. Not in a snobbish way — more like the same energy I bring to configuring a new Linux setup. There's always something to tweak, something to learn, and the payoff is immediate and delicious.

Favorite origin: Ethiopia
Daily cups: 2–3
Milk: Black, always
Grinder: Burr only

Brewing Methods

V60 Pour Over
My daily driver

The one I reach for most mornings. The process is meditative — slow pour, watching the bloom, dialing in the grind. Clean, bright, and you can actually taste the origin.

🔵
Aeropress
Most versatile

Forgiving and fast. Great for experimenting — inverted method, different steep times, coarser grinds. You can pull something espresso-adjacent or a clean filter cup from the same device.

Espresso
High skill ceiling

The most technical of the bunch. Dial in the grind, nail the tamp, watch the shot time. When it's right it's incredible. When it's wrong you learn something. Either way you're caffeinated.

🧱
French Press
Lazy Sunday energy

Full immersion, thick body, zero fuss. I pull this out when I want a big mug without thinking too hard. Coarse grind, 4 minutes, done.

Current Favorites

☕ Go-to Bean
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe

Floral, blueberry-forward, natural process. Brews beautifully as a pour over. If you've never had a light roast Ethiopian you're missing out.

🏠 Local Roaster
Victrola Coffee Roasters

Seattle staple. Consistent quality, great single origins, and you can watch them roast at the Capitol Hill location.

📖 Currently Learning
Dialing in Espresso Ratio

Working on pulling consistent 1:2 ratio shots. The difference between a 25s and 30s pull is wild — same beans, totally different cup.
